A UK-based commercial drone solution provider has raised the bar for training standards by achieving a national first.

COPTRZ has become the first NQE provider of a PfCO course which will be a registered qualification under OFQUAL (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) as a Level 4 award.

The new standard is a vocational qualification recognised across the board by employers in many sectors, representing a standard between an A-level and a degree (ONC/HNC level).

COPTRZ places a large emphasis on its education programmes as part of its offering, which extends well beyond the point of sale.

The course provides training to commercial, public and private organisations, as well as individuals, in how to operate drones.

A spokesperson for COPTRZ said: “For participants of our PfCO course which equips them with CAA accreditation. This means the opportunity to enjoy better earning potential. All thanks to the achievement of a recognised and regulated qualification under OFQUAL.

“It formalises the PfCO like never before and allows it to play a key part in the professional development of participants. Sitting alongside other academic and vocational qualifications on their resume. In many cases, course participants might be able to attract grant funding to support their studies for the new OFQUAL-qualified PfCO course, with a positive impact on their cash flow.”
