AirMap capitalises on InterDrone with two new announcements

AirMap has announced a new collaboration with and released the news of the integration between AirMap platforms SDK, into QGroundControl.

Yesterday marked the first of the three-day drone expo at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The collaboration with will allow US-based drone operators to purchase insurance from inside the AirMap app.

It will provide in-app access to paperless insurance and part of AirMap’s plan to make drone use ‘safe, connected and protected.’

Additionally, AirMap released the integration of Platform SDK, an open source version of the AirMap SDK, into QGroundConrol.

Stemming from a collaboration with Oklahoma State University for the Choctaw Nation’s UAS Integration Pilot Program, the AirMap platform will be used to fly drones behind visual line of site (BVLOS) in order to trap feral animals that destroy farm crops and pollute water sources.

Interdrone kicked off its three-day event yesterday with a number of keynote speakers, classes and panels.

Today will feature more of the same along with a Women in Drones Luncheon this afternoon.
