Lowland Rescue expands with new head of drone regulations role

Lowland Rescue has continued to expand its offering, doing so most recently with the appointment of David Walters. Walters has been appointed to a newly created role and will operate as the head of drone regulations, a move Lowland Rescue says will work to recognise the seriousness and important of safe and legal operations. He is employed by Altitude Angel as head of strategic programmes and currently leads the work conducted in the CAA Innovation Sandbox, while also managing opportunities such as the Government-funded Future Flight call. VIDEO: Drone tech helps police catch mustard gas bomb criminals

Police in Lincolnshire have released footage of a drone helping the force catch people dumping mustard gas bombs. It explained how the people have been given a jail sentence for disposing of them in a Lincolnshire Lake. With a drone involved as part of the operation, Lincolnshire Police explained how it sparked the largest multi-agency response of its kind over 11 days. Quoting the tweet, the Lincolnshire Police drone team explained how the incident involved six continuous days of flying. Drone operation for hospital pandemic response launches in the US

Novant Health, a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system headquartered in North Carolina, has launched America's first emergency drone logistics operation by a hospital for its pandemic response. The launch was made possible through a partnership with Zipline, the world's only national scale, on-demand logistics service, which will provide drone flight services. The FAA granted Novant Health a Part 107 waiver to begin operation, which is being launched as part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation's (NCDOT's) Unmanned Aircraft System Integration Pilot Program (IPP). AV8 makes EASA drone courses available to emergency services on not-for-profit basis

AV8 has made its General VLOS Certificate (GVC) conversion drone course available on a not-for-profit basis to anyone who flies drones for the emergency services. The course, which includes both the GVC and A2 Certificate of Competence (A2 CofC), is part of the UK’s adoption of a harmonised European framework for drones.
