Coverdrone has adapted its existing policy offering, making it available in a range of flexible policy periods.
The new plan now offers periods from one day to year-long cover, and has enabled customers to purchase policy by registering with the Coverdrone app, the company website or over the phone.
For commercial clients, the change means they are now automatically provided with Aviation Authority registration forms once they have registered with Coverdrone.
Prior to the new offering, this was only issued once a client had purchased a policy.
As part of the move, Coverdrone has also incorporated a free flight examination cover feature for clients going through flight examination with any NQE within the UK.
Once registered, operators will be able to obtain a free flight examination policy, liability only, for either themselves or anybody that may be training within their business.
As well as the flight examination addition, the Coverdrone FlySafe app has now been made available to everyone, in a bid to make airspace a safer environment for all pilots, rather than those exclusive to Coverdrone.
Andrew Heath, director at the firm, commented on the launch, saying: “We have developed and invested heavily into our IT system to give us the capability to offer more flexibility than ever before which establishes our commitment to the drone industry.
He added: “In expanding into the recreational market, with eleven years of commercial drone insurance experience on our side, we believe Coverdrone can offer a service and platform that is currently unavailable to this market.”
