Level Five Supplies, a specialist in autonomous vehicles and LiDAR, has been acquired by what it describes as a ‘significant automotive player.’

In what is the latest example of consolidation within the UAV supply chain, the deal gives Level Five Supplies access to a vast multi-country support and logistics infrastructure.

It is thought the buyer of the business could be international parts supplier, Comline Auto Parts, which had a turnover of more than £30m last year.

Companies House records show that Comline director, Mr Shalin Divyesh Kamdar, was officially appointed as a director of Level Five Supplies yesterday.

However, Level Five Supplies has declined to confirm the identity of its new owner.

Alex Lawrence-Berkeley, founder and CEO of Level Five Supplies, said the takeover is “a perfect fit” due to new access to “a considerable support network of back-office support, international logistics and engineering services, which means that upcoming economic challenges such as the UK’s exit from the EU are considerably reduced.”

As described by Alex Lawrence-Berkeley, founder and CEO of Level Five Supplies, the move is “a perfect fit” due to new access to “a considerable support network of back-office support, international logistics and engineering services, which means that upcoming economic challenges such as the UK’s exit from the EU are considerably reduced.”

The company, which was incorporated in 2018, is already representing numerous suppliers in the UK and the wider European market.

It aims to provide simpler access and clearer pricing of the components required for technology projects, including autonomous vehicle R&D.

It confirmed it would remain focused on the products that enable autonomous vehicles and their speciality in high-end sensors, including high-resolution panoramic LiDAR, radar and camera systems.

Level Five Supplies said the new business relationship will allow it to focus on going to see customers, demonstrating products and showing off capabilities of the product range.

Last month, CDP reported on how the firm had secured six new international distribution agreements.
