COPTRZ and DJI teamed up to host an Emergency Services drone demonstration day. Help at Highfield Park Hotel in Heckfield, Hook, the COPTRZ team started the day with an outdoor demonstration of how its new DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual can be beneficial in emergency situation. Alongside the Matrice 210, footage from both drones was streamed to guests on two large HD televisions to highlight how first, thermal imaging capabilities can be used to find a missing person. They then used smoke grenades to set up a fire scene to show how the devices can help teams on the ground
Reported sightings of two drones flying not far from Newark International airport in America forced officials to ground flights. Last night, a pilot told Air Traffic Control that he thought one of the drones came within 30ft of his aircraft. According to a report from the BBC, the sightings took place Teterboro Airport, a nearby private facility, but officials closed Newark International, America’s 11th busiest airport, as a precaution. The reports have faced scrutiny from the drone industry once again, with Brendan Schulman, DJI’s VP for policy and legal affairs taking to Twitter to question the credibility of the sightings.
