COPTRZ hosts Emergency Services drone demonstration day with DJI

COPTRZ and DJI teamed up to host an Emergency Services drone demonstration day.

Help at Highfield Park Hotel in Heckfield, Hook, the COPTRZ team started the day with an outdoor demonstration of how its new DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual can be beneficial in emergency situation.

Alongside the Matrice 210, footage from both drones was streamed to guests on two large HD televisions to highlight how first, thermal imaging capabilities can be used to find a missing person.

They then used smoke grenades to set up a fire scene to show how the devices can help teams on the ground make more informed decisions.

Describing how they can put drones into practice, the Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs team then gave a presentation on how, despite initially being unsure about their benefits, now have a drone team it treasures.

Devon and Cornwall Police, in a strategic alliance with Dorset Police, then took to the stage to give a deeper insight into how the UAVs had added a new aspect for a force covering such a wide area.

Guests were shown footage of drones at football games, festivals and concerts along with how they had been used to successfully find missing and suicidal people in the area.

Devon and Cornwall now have a large team of professionally trained drone pilot for operations.
