The counter-drone market has been forecast to grow by 37.2% from now until 2023, a new research report has found.
Research, published by Homeland Security Research, found that potential threat posed by drones is now apparent and tangible.
The counter-UAV market is set to take off due to this as a rise in the manufacture of systems designed to detect and intercept unmanned aircrafts is expected.
The threats mainly consist of mid-air collisions of drones flying in the vicinity of airplanes, bases or large public spaces, the smuggling of contrabands, weaponized drones, reconnaissance and intelligence gathering, loitering munitions and electronic snooping.
Despite the current threat, the report suggests that little has been done to mitigate the issue so far.
