Counter-drone technology specialist Dedrone has announced the addition of Aaditya Devarakonda to its board, where he will take on the role of president and chief business officer.

Devarakonda will be based in Dedrone’s San Francisco headquarters, and will oversee the company’s global sales, marketing, business development, product and finance.

He joins Dedrone as president and chief business officer from independent investment banking firm Centerview Partners, where he was a senior member of the Technology Investment Banking Group.

Devarakonda has spent many years as an advisor and partner to CEOs, boards and management teams, helping companies fund and execute growth.

Dedrone was founded in 2014. Its counter-drone technology allows organisations to identify, track and eliminate airspace threats.

It works with critical infrastructure, government operations, military assets, correctional facilities, and enterprises to protect against unwanted small drones.

“This is a tremendous time to join Dedrone,” said new Dedrone president Devarakonda. “The counter-drone market is at an inflection point, where organisations can no longer ignore the airspace threat. Dedrone is the market leader for counter-drone technology, and the founders have assembled a phenomenal team of world-class product developers, researchers, and commercial leaders.

“The winning combination of strong product, robust customer base, and marquee investors make Dedrone primed for success, and I look forward to amplifying the exceptional work that this company has already accomplished.”

This news comes after Dedrone made moves to expand its operations in the UK late last year. Read more below:
