More commercial drone customers will now be able to access Flyability’s collision-tolerant UAV as the company has locked in a new distribution deal.
Flyability has announced a partnership with Exelon AeroLabs, which will now become an authorised reseller of Flyability’s indoor inspection and exploration drone, Elios.
After the acquisition of 15 Elios to equip each of its nuclear sites, Exelon joins forces with Flyability via AeroLabs to help the industry adopt the Elios.
Patrick Thévoz, CEO of Flyability, said: “The network and expertise of Exelon AeroLabs is a serious asset to increase our presence in the US utility industry.
“We see this partnership as a great opportunity to increase business in the US and are proud of this endorsement of our technology.”
Colbey Ryan, co-founder and head of business development for AeroLabs, added: “At Exelon, we have realised significant safety improvements and cost-reduction using the Elios to perform indoor asset inspections at our facilities.
“We feel this is a valuable asset every generating station should have on-hand. As an authorised reseller, we look forward to helping the industry adopt the Elios, and collaborating with Flyability to unlock new innovations.”
The Swiss start-up’s crash-ready inspection drone is currently available in the UK, through drone specialists such as Coptrz, and used by selection of emergency units across Europe. Last month it was announced that French elite law enforcement team RAID adopted the Elios to better manage hostage situations, isolated shooter incidents, or terrorist attacks inside buildings.
