DJM Aerial Solutions has expand its operational area by investing in a ground-breaking collision-ready drone to negotiate confined spaces.
The Middlesbrough-based drone service firm, which was founded in 2016, has introduced Flyability’s Elios, a crash-ready drone encased in a cage, into its equipment portfolio.
DJM’s recent investment now allows it to further explore markets using the collision-tolerant UAV, which is designed to allow unhindered survey methods of dangerous or confined spaces with the added benefit of being able to collide with the surrounding environment and capture close proximity data of structural detail inclusive of thermography.
DJM Aerial Solutions aims to reduce the outage times of traditional manned inspection techniques in industry while delivering a cost-effective and inherently safer method to visual inspection of assets.
Director at DJM Aerial Solutions, Dan Maine, said: “DJM Aerial stipulates that targeted preventive maintenance is now a definite requirement saving companies millions in lost revenue but also contributing to the reduction of work-related fatalities and serious injury, where statistics currently trend that 30% of all work based deaths are due to falls from height.
“The first step in mitigating risk in any situation where there may be risk of injury is “can we achieve the same results using alternative methods”.”
