Drone called in to help Lincolnshire Police search for pair after car crash

The Lincolnshire Police drone team was called out to help with a search and rescue mission after a local car accident.

The drone worked alongside the force and used its thermal capability to find the pair who had fortunately escaped ‘safe and well’.

Taking to Twitter to explain the incident, the Lincolnshire Police drone team wrote: “Another rural search deployment for us with our drone and thermal.”

The tweet continued: “Found safe and well one lucky driver and passenger leaving the scene and not contacting Lincolnshire Police takes up valuable multiple resources.”

Due to the scene of the incident being located near a number of runways, the team went on to confirm that the nearest RAF base, Barkston Heath, was not operational at the time and that it was in constant contact with RAF Coningsby throughout the mission as is standard practice.
