UK-based Drone Defence Services has launched its Solar Sentinel system, a rapidly deployable drone detection and CCTV system.
The solar-powered technology can function as a CCTV system, or as a drone detection system.
It boasts continuous video surveillance, a pan-tilt-zoom camera and proprietary AeroSentry RF drone detection in a single solar powered platform.
The technology is powered by a 1600AH battery bank and a 1300W solar array, meaning it is able to operate off-grid for long periods of time.
Drone Defence founder Richard Gill commented: “We started receiving a number of enquiries for a drone detection capability to protect areas and events for a short period of time.
“Many customers have not yet decided to install permanent drone detection systems, so the Solar Sentinel provides a capability when and where it is needed.
When we think back to the drone incident at Gatwick, we identified the need to be able to rapidly deploy drone detection capability to protect an area.
“By combining 360-degree video surveillance, a high-powered zoom camera and our RF detection system we can gather large amounts of data to support police and security operations and secure the airspace against illegal drone use.”
