Drones assist in flood work as ‘state of emergency’ declared


Drones in Lincolnshire were used to help with safety work after a ‘state of emergency’ was declared.

The river in Wainfleet, Skegness, burst its banks and the flooding levels meant people this morning woke up without power in some areas.

The Lincolnshire Police Drone team took to Twitter to tell its followers how it was assisting the Environment Agency with its work on impact assessments of flooding.

In a later tweet, it also documented how the RAF had given ‘fantastic support’ to the flooding operations.

It also included a video of a Chinook helicopter on the scene.
