Organisers behind the Geo Business trade exhibition have expressed their excitement about the news that the go-date for the exhibition industry is set for October 1, 2020.
This date is subject to the completion of successful pilot.
Caroline Hobden, event director of GEO Business said: “We welcome the government’s decision to provisionally announce a re-opening date of the meetings and events sector from 1 October. After some challenging times for all of us, this is great news for the industry and our geospatial community.
“With a go-date, you – our exhibitors, visitors and partners – will now be able to re-start your planning for the 2021 show with greater confidence. GEO Business is your platform to connect with new and existing supplier and customers and generates trade to support your business. And we can’t wait to be back – stronger and better than ever.”
It explained how ExCeL London, the venue for GEO Business 2021, has also been working hard with their partners and stakeholders to develop the All Secure Standard, an industry wide benchmark to enable the safe return of organised events.
Jeremy Rees, CEO of ExCeL London confirmed: “The vast majority of the venue (90%) has been restored to its original state, with the remaining space secured as equipment storage for NHS Nightingale. This ongoing support will not impact the normal operation of our venue and we look forward to hosting safe, secure and successful business events and conferences from 1 October onwards.”
