Hobbyists likely responsible for mystery Colorado-Nebraska drone sightings, says senator

Recent mysterious Colorado and Nebraska drone flock sightings can likely be blamed on drone hobbyists, a Nebraska senator has said.

Senator Deb Fischer has said that at least half of the mystery Colorado and Nebraska drone sightings in the area are probably caused by recreational drone pilots.

Meanwhile, some sightings may be the cause of manned aircraft.

The senator commented: “In recent weeks, reported drone sightings have significantly diminished.”

She continued: “We also now know that more than half of the reports from Nebraskans to state law enforcement were attributed to causes such as hobbyists or manned aircraft. The Nebraska State Patrol continues to pass on any relevant information to the FAA for their review.”

Nebraska police have received over 400 reports since mid-December.
