Three companies were chosen as the winners of the ‘Pitch the Press’ event at the Commercial UAV Expo Americas 2019 for their innovative drone technology.
Agrowing, A2Z and SolSpec were all winners at this year’s show, with their ground-breaking products singled out for praise.
Agrowing, creator of a pioneering AI-enabled, 12 narrow band multispectral sensor, was among the winners, with the panel of judges recogniseing the system’s ability to examine assets in a wide range of spectral bands providing users with specific visual data.
Delivery innovator A2Z was also among the winners, with its tethered mechanism for dropping packages, allowing drones to remain airborne while delivering easing safety and privacy fears.
Rounding out the trio of winners was SolSpec, who unveiled its new analytics platform for drones that generates an actionable report that ranks all data collected.
The Pitch the Press event allows manufacturers to present their new products to a panel of editors and reporters who then single out the most unique and innovative tech following a two-minute elevator pitch and one-minute Q&A.
Fifteen finalists are selected from a pool of 40 companies who are then whittled down to the final three winners.
Executive editor at Diversified Communications, Jeremiah Karpowicz, said of the event: “Two minutes is not a lot of time, but it’s enough to get a sense of what’s new and what’s possible.
“Understanding the opportunities that companies like A2Z, Agrowing, and SolSpec are creating is just the beginning of where and how they’re going to make a difference in many different industries, and that’s exciting from both a technology and a storytelling perspective.”
