Leicestershire Police carry out drone training exercise


Leicestershire Police has carried out a drone training exercise as police UAV use continues to grow.

The force carried out the testing over Hinckley after it secured a CAA license earlier this year.

Prior to the exercise, which was due to commence at around 10:38am this morning, a spokesperson took to twitter to reassure local residents that it was just training procedure and not to worry.

This is the latest of a number of police teams across the UK which are beginning to implement drones to help with police work.

Last week, CDP reported that Derbyshire Police had taken to the skies with a dedicated drone team.
