Ministry of Defence makes innovation call for drone technology

The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) are seeking innovative and novel solutions to assist military drone operators to improve usability in challenging and complex urban operations. This cross-departmental requirement between DASA and DE&S is designed for the rapid exploitation of technology and is the first of its kind. Up to £900,000 is available for successful proposals that can help the Ministry of Defence overcome three challenges. Persistent Systems supports Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System experiment

Persistent Systems has successfully supported the U.S. Air Force's second Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) On-Ramp Experiment, which took place under the auspices of U.S. Space, Strategic and Northern Commands. Unlike the traditional platform-centric program with a prime contractor, ABMS brings together dozens of companies in a multi-billion-dollar effort to build a military internet of things. The goal is to connect computers, sensors and shooters at machine-speed, thus fulfilling the U.S. Department of Defense's vision of Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2). MoD acquires nano drone tech with UAVTEK program

The UK MoD has taken delivery of the new nano drone tech. UAVTEK, a UK-based SME has developed and provided UK forces with its latest Nano Drone technology after winning the drone program.  The UK MoD recently went to tender for a new Nano drone to support UK forces and after winning a bid, UAVTEK came top overall.
