Elbit Systems, an Israel-based defense electronics company, is launching MAGNI, an intelligence-gathering micro drone.
MAGNI is a Multi-Rotor Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) that launches from vehicles.
At a weight of 2.5kg, operated by one user and with a sub-60-second takeoff, MAGNI will give mobile forces a recon advantage.
Elbit Systems promises a thermal payload, a communications suite, an automatic coordinate tracking capability and a built-in interface with Battle Management Systems (BMS).
It holds 350grams of payloads and also offers a range of up to 3km. MAGNI can operate at up to 4000ft and has 30 minutes of endurance at any time of day or night.
Elbit Systems, which works in homeland security and commercial programs worldwide, also has 5kg and 10kg drones.
