NSO Group launches Eclipse drone defence system

Counter-terrorism and public safety software licensing specialist NSO Group has announced the launch of Eclipse, a new drone defence system.

NSO Group is based in Israel and was founded in 2010.

In a statement the company described it as: “the premier cyber counter-drone platform designed to automatically detect, take over and
safely land unauthorised commercial drones.”

It deploys an autonomous, end-to-end cyber solution to detect activity within a designated perimeter, identify the presence of drones, take over control of drones which present a threat, and then land them safely.

It is designed for use in dense urban environments, stadiums, critical
infrastructure, airports, landmarks, and private enterprises.

A spokesperson for NSO Group commented: “NSO Group is committed in everything it does to saving lives and creating a better, safer world. We are proud to launch Eclipse, the first of our new suite of products, NSO Shield, aimed at countering emerging threats to public safety.

“The increasing availability of affordable drones, which can be fitted with advanced offensive capabilities, has the potential to create life-threatening situations. Eclipse helps counter rogue drones before they become a threat.”
