Orbital UAV has announced it has officially opened its purpose-built operational facility in Oregon in the United States.
The company hopes this milestone will mark the next step in its UAV-focused strategy, providing a base in the heart of the growing U.S. tactical unmanned aerial vehicle market.
Orbital believes the U.S. site will offer a second world class facility from which Orbital UAV will focus on the development, build and overhaul of UAV propulsion systems, extending the company’s existing global supply and service capabilities.
Todd Alder, CEO and managing director at Orbital UAV, said: “The delivery of the Hood River facility has been a strategic imperative for the growth of our business.”
He added: “Not only will it provide Orbital UAV with an operational base that will better support our key North American customers from a logistical perspective, it also provides the additional capacity to meet increased engine volumes and service demands.
The new site replicates the already established facility in Perth, Western Australia.
The new facility will provide the company with extended capabilities in UAV propulsion system builds and overhauls along with UAV engine development.
