Gemma Alcock founded and now manages Skybound Rescuer, a venture that is supported by the Princes’ Trust, Dorset Growth Hub and the Dorset Engineering and Manufacturing Cluster.
Since its beginnings, Gemma has been central to work with the RNLI, MCA, fire services, police forces, Lowland Rescue, Aerones, Thales and HALO among others.
SkyBound Rescuer is a research, consultancy and training organisation for drones in emergency response.
Its slogan is ‘We enable you to save more lives with drones’ and over the past 2 years, Gemma has worked either with an emergency service wanting to start/develop a drone unit, or a drone manufacturer that wants to create a drone product for an emergency service customer, putting her drone expertise to use for a good cause that will help the wider public.
She is also the Lowland Rescue director of air services, after previously fulfilling the role of technical development lead for Air Operations.
