Red Cat agrees to acquire Rotor Riot

San Juan-based data storage and analytics provider Red Cat has announced an agreed acquisition of Rotor Riot, specialists in FPV drones and recent partner of DJI.

The acquisition is expected to be completed mid-January in a stock and cash transaction.

This news comes after a strong year for Rotor Riot. Its revenue grew 44% year-on-year from 2018 to 2019, and it saw an impressive fourth quarter after a partnership with DJI.

DJI enlisted Rotor Riot’s help when it decided to enter the FPV arena, and the pairing meant an immediate boost in business for Rotor Riot.

Red Cat will continue to improve its drone black box and SaaS business while helping Rotor Riot develop a more robust customer support system.

Rotor Riot also competes in the Drone Racing League World Championships, which it won on December 29, 2019.
