A drone unit has formally teamed up with Scottish Mountain Rescue to assist with its work.
SMR hopes the relationship will help the team build on the missions carried out by drones in previous years.
Rescue units across the country have used drones in the past but this news marks the first formal relationship between a drone team and the SMR.
A report from the BBC describes how Search and Rescue Aerial Association Scotland (SARAA-Scotland) supported a search for a missing person in East Lothian in September and the association became a full member following a vote at SMR’s annual general meeting.
SMR’s other members include Aberdeen, Arran, Braemar, Borders, Dundonnell, Oban and Skye MRTs.
Two Search and Rescue Dog Association teams, three Police Scotland teams and an RAF unit are also members.
