Spain’s UNVEX (Unmanned Vehicle Exhibition) 2020 event has been postponed from its original June date to October of this year.
UNVEX is now set to take place in Cidade da Cultura of Santiago de Compostela in north-western Spain from October 6-8, 2020.
The postponement of the exhibition’s 10th edition comes after the recommendation of authorities based on international response to the coronavirus.
Organisers hope the new autumn date will give sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and visitors the peace of mind to take part.
UNVEX believes it may even see a boost in footfall given the new interest in drones during the coronavirus pandemic.
Many governments worldwide have found multiple uses for drone technology since the outbreak of COVID-19, including for the spraying of disinfectant and as a mobile speaker to tell citizens to stay at home.
Authorities can also utilise thermal imaging cameras to potentially find persons suffering from the high temperature associated with coronavirus.
