The Energy Drone & Robotics Summit, originally set to take place in Texas in June, is just the latest in a long line of industry events to be postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
The Energy Drone & Robotics Coalition, after discussions with its advisory board, has released a statement saying that the safety of the wider community must take priority over such events.
It is currently in talks with venue The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel to finalise a revised date for the postponed event.
The coalition promised to keep the industry updated as soon as it knows more, and added that it will continue to offer online content in the interim.
The statement explained that this will include “interactive events, videos and top notch energy drone and robotics content and reports”.
Looking to the future the coalition concluded: “Our market is strong and resilient, and we know automation with unmanned systems will remain a core function in the industrial sector that will continue to be built and utilized this year, and for years to come.
“Thank you for your understanding and patience, and we will get through this time together.”
