VIDEO: Drone used to wash windows and fight fires takes flight

A large UAV which can be used to clean windows and put out fires has taken to the skies.

The Latvian built device has been manufactured by Aerones and gets its water supply from a hose which also tethers it to the ground.

According to a report from the BBC, the company says it can clean buildings 20 times faster than a conventional human window cleaner and can also fly higher than what a fireman’s ladder does.

The company adds it is hoping that when 5G connectivity goes live, it will be able to use the network to stream HD video to operatives on the ground.

Aerones, based in Latvia, also offer wind turbine maintenance as well as window cleaning and firefighting solutions.
