VIDEO: Police drones direct Madrid’s coronavirus lockdown


Drones have been used by police in Madrid to direct members of the public to stay at home.

The drones, deployed by Policia Municipial de Madrid, have been used to shout orders at anyone disobeying the state of emergency guidelines, announced over the weekend.

The drones were deployed in public areas, such as Buen Retiro Park, to urge people to return to their homes.

With 297 deaths and close to 9,000 cases of infection, Spain is Europe’s worst-hit country after Italy.

Europe is now described as the ‘epicentre’ of the pandemic.
