Wingtra, the Swiss drone manufacturer commercialising the first high-precision VTOL drone, has touched down in a new nation by securing a partnership deal.
The company has signed a distribution partnership agreement with Dronage Company, a specialist UAV surveying equipment dealer with expertise in aerial surveys and mapping.
Dronage will be offering WingtraOne drones through its distribution network in Ghana and West Africa.
Leopold Flechsenberger, sales manager at Wingtra, said: “The partnership with Dronage is the next step towards reaching the industry professionals in Africa. We see Dronage as a trusted distribution partner and we are excited to see the WingtraOne being sold through their sales network in Ghana.”
WingtraOne drone takes-off and lands as a multicopter but flies in the air as a fixed wing aircraft. This technology (VTOL) eliminates the risk of damaging the aircraft while landing, lets the drone carry heavier and thus better sensors.
“We are very excited to announce to industry professionals the arrival of the high-accuracy VTOL drone in Ghana,” said Mackiva Owusu, business development manager at Dronage.
“The WingtraOne as it affords the advantages of both multicopters and fixed wings with the benefits of safer take-off and landing, lower cost of maintaining payloads and more accurate mapping over larger areas per flight. It will really fill in the gaps created by the need for timely, accurate and cost effective mapping in West Africa.”
