OpenWorks Engineering will show its SkyWall Auto Response technology, the world’s first vehicle-mounted drone capture system, at next month’s Security & Policing government event.
This will mark the first time the system, developed by OpenWorks and partner Antmicro, has been displayed at a police-specific event.
The technology remains hidden under rapidly deployable covers on the back of the vehicle while not in use.
It is in addition to the company’s SkyWall Patrol system and can capture fast moving multi-rotor (quad) or fixed-wing drones.
OpenWorks promises the drone will protect the public, VIPs, prisons and critical national infrastructure, and has several inbuilt safety features to allow its use within a populated environment.
Neil Armstrong, engineering director of OpenWorks Engineering, commented: “The OpenWorks team is excited to be at S&P 2020 with the latest SkyWall technology and would encourage anyone with an interest in counter drone to contact us and visit the display to discuss the SkyWall products further.”
